Following each meditation is a testimonial from a Texas State University student assigned to practice and comment on that particular meditation.
“I really enjoyed this meditation. At first, sitting in a chair was weird being that I thought I felt more grounded with my bottom on the floor, but as she started talking I began to feel as if I was on the floor. As she was talking I did phase in and out but that’s normal. When she talked about the disconnection with our thoughts and how they compete with each other it did open my eyes to how I compete with myself.” ~ Ashley C., Texas State University
“I listened to this meditation (Loving Energy) while on a paddle board in the middle of Canyon Lake. I imagined my cousin during this practice. She has been going through the toughest time of her life for the past few years. She deserves love more than anyone I know. I mentioned to her post-meditation that I thought of her during this meditation, and she told me it made her week. She had been having anxiety attacks all throughout the day this day, but when I told her about this, she said she felt some relief. It’s amazing how words can uplift spirits, and change the entirety of one’s overall outlook.” ~ Carley W., Texas State University
“Wow. This one was amazing. I genuinely felt my love reaching to each and every being that I imagined. This was the most moving meditation practice I have ever done. I have a big heart, and always want the best for every person., so I was able to resonate with this meditation on a deeper level. I couldn’t resist the tears when she said to imagine the world and wish safety and peace for everyone. This is such a difficult time for a majority of the planet, and everyone on earth needs a sense of unity and love in their lives right now. My loving kindness energy is so small in comparison to the world, but I can only hope that it reaches those in need.” ~ Carley W., Texas State University
“This is a method I will use throughout the difficult times in my life. I felt this method on a personal level because of the anxiety I have been feeling lately. I felt such a release when she said to imagine the difficult feeling leaving my body on the exhale, and even more so when I was inhaling and exhaling peace from the top of my head through the rest of my body. This meditation gave me a lot of clarity, and I feel physically lighter and more relaxed because of it.” ~ Carley W., Texas State University.
“I tried this meditation before starting my day. Being that I have been stressed and have a consistent amount of things I need to do and finish, such as completing the school semester, finding a job, etc. . . I know redirecting my thoughts, or at least understanding my thoughts, as such a time will help me control them now more than ever. The time length was just right. This was a great at ease meditation that I will continue to use!” ~ Ashley C. Texas State University
“This is a meditation I will try to use every day. It is interesting how such simple words can adjust my focus. I was able to bring my mind to my breath using the phrase, “now I breathe in, now I breathe out.” ~ Carley W., Texas State University
“I couldn’t help but sit there for five extra minutes with my eyes open at this end of this meditation. I felt release in every part of my body as she was moving from top to bottom. I have always loved meditations like this because they really do allow me to fully relax and lose tension where it once was. This is a practice I often take for granted. With all that’s going on, it is easy to forget that you can find relaxation just by controlling your body through your mind.” ~ Carley W., Texas State University
“Being able to relax my entire body was lovely. She was very precise and direct with what we should feel. I really enjoyed the connection I made with my body scan. I did not expect to receive anything from it just because in my practice I feel I go to that place where I scan my body. That’s how I feel I can understand my body and what it needs. I did get another level of calmness.” ~ Ashley C. Texas State University
“This guided meditation was incredible. Often times, I find it harder to physically see something during my visualization meditations, but this time was different. The full body relaxation is what helped I think. It was so interesting to me that I could actually see and feel the tree that she was talking about. The stone that I imagined on the table was a large orange calcite that I have in my meditation corner of my room. This was a really cool, eye opening practice. I will certainly do it again.” ~ Carley W., Texas State University
“You’re true Self is always listening”, “no way to do this wrong”, These words stayed with me throughout this meditation. It gave me comfort that this is my practice, my meditation, and how I connect with it is for me. She mentions for us to feel all parts as a whole as energy. That was a feeling that I did not feel before. I really enjoyed this meditation. I made a deeper connection most likely because of the visual she was giving.” ~ Ashley C., Texas State University
“This was an interesting practice. At the beginning of the meditation I was able to see a light that was blue pulsing throughout my body. I am curious as to whether or not the color that one sees has any sort of external correlation or meaning. The movement of my arms up and down felt like water, I felt so slowed and calmed.” ~ Carley W., Texas State University
“ I thought this meditation was going to be different, but it was great! Being that our hands are a bid part of our lives, I have another level of love for my hands and I appreciate them a little more. I felt like I was in space when she had us move slowly with our hands in the air. It was a weird but cool feeling. After doing so, I felt like energy was bouncing from one hand to the other when she had us pulsing our hands together. I placed my hands on my heart and it was as if they passed energy from each other. I really enjoyed this meditation.” ~ Ashely C., Texas State University
