MOONS + MERIDIANS
Immerse yourself in the tranquility of nature with a Yin Yoga practice that is inspired by the approaching Sagittarius Full Moon♐︎
About Yin Yoga
Yin yoga is a slow-paced, meditative practice that focuses on holding postures for extended periods (usually 3-5 minutes) with the support of various props. The longer holds help to target the deeper connective tissues (ligaments, fascia, bones), which give support to the structure and shape of your body. Fascia acts as a riverbed to the energy meridians in the body. By influencing the fascia in a particular way, it in turn influences the quality + mobility of energy in the meridians, as well as the body systems and psychosomatic relationships that they govern.
About Moons + Meridians -
This yin yoga practice is inspired by the understanding that our biology is connected to nature, both above and below. Because yin yoga is a lunar practice, there is an added measure of support when we practice intentionally with the moon cycles. The moon’s journey through the zodiac wheel highlights the body systems (zones) and unlocks the energy of each sign, helping us tap into its strengths and work through its difficulties.
This practice is also about building a strong, energetic foundation
Think of your well-being as a house. Preventative self-care (such as yin yoga) is like laying a strong foundation. Healthy habits (sleep, exercise, stress management) become the sturdy support beams that allow you to weather storms (stressful situations, illness) without the house crumbling. Yin yoga is a practice that fortifies the energy channels within the body so that they can effectively transport life force energy to the entire mind/body/spirit complex, resulting in glowing health.
